Welcome to the website of the New Zealand Essential Tremor Support Group. This website has been set up to provide information and support for people effected by Essential Tremor.
Essential Tremor (ET) is a neurological disorder that causes a rhythmic shaking of the arms or other body parts, often misdiagnosed as Parkinson's disease. Here you can find a description of Essential Tremor and links to medical and research information.

Brain Day 2016
Please watch this space for the announcement of events to take place in March 2016.
The two Brain Day events for 2015, on 14 March in Dunedin and on 28 March in Auckland, allowed us to share information about Essential Tremor with the general public and also to demonstrate visibly its effects. At our ET stands, we handed out many of our brochures and information sheets and were able to liaise effectively with other similar organisations who also took part these exciting events.
For recorded lectures from Brain Day 2015 and for other neurological events, please see www.neurological.org.nz
